ConCal Quick Guide

Concrete estimating in 60 seconds

Draw your slab

Pick the slab tool on the left toolbar, then click the canvas to drop each corner. Click the first corner again to close the shape. Use + New Shape to add a driveway, patio, or second pour. Backspace removes the last point.

Check the numbers

Quantities update live as you draw. The Shapes panel shows drawn CY; the topbar Order figure adds your waste %. Set thickness, base, and reinforcement right on the shape.

Price it

Tap the Order · Bid strip in the topbar. Every category — base, concrete, reinforcement, labor, equipment — is a card; tap one to set your rates inline. Anything left at $0 shows a "not priced yet" flag so nothing silently drops out of the bid.

Set markup & send the bid

Overhead, contingency, and profit live below the categories. Tap Bid PDF for the client proposal — the totals include your markup and your payment terms. The Rebar schedule (··· menu) gives the crew a cut & bend list with a bar placement plan.

Save & recall jobs

Save stores the job — to your account when you're signed in, locally otherwise. Reopen from Open or the Dashboard. Download Backup File (··· menu) keeps a copy on your machine.

TIPS

· Right-click the E. Labor header to set productivity rates
· Enter a labor override $ in the E. Labor header to lock in a flat total
· Add custom line items at the bottom of the Cost Breakdown

Everything here is written for touch. Tap a section to open it.

✏️ Draw a shape ›

Tap + New Shape and pick the type — Slab, Footing, or Wall.
Move the on-screen crosshair to where you want a corner, then tap + Add point.
Repeat for each corner. The sides show live lengths as you go.
To finish: land the crosshair on your first point and add it, or tap Close / Done.

Tip: draw roughly first — you can set exact side lengths afterward (see “Edit a shape”).

✥ Edit a shape ›

Move a corner: drag it.
Open the options bar: press & hold a line or corner. Tap anywhere outside the bar to close it.
Exact length: in the options bar tap Edit length and type the real measurement.
Lock a corner: in the options bar tap Lock to pin it, so editing another side can’t move it. It’ll ask before it ever moves a locked corner.
Delete a segment/corner: options bar → Delete (it confirms if that corner is locked).

Keeping two ends lined up? Lock one corner, then set the opposite side’s length.

📏 Measure & check ›

Pick the Measure tool, then tap two corners to see the true distance between them.
Use it to confirm a driveway is symmetric before you price it.
Zoom: pinch. Pan: drag with two fingers (or use the Navigate tool).

🧾 Build the estimate ›

Open the Project tab. The bid is broken out by category — tap any card to open its settings and prices.

Concrete: set thickness, PSI, finish, waste.
Reinforcement: rebar or mesh, and the spacing/size.
Base & subgrade: toggle Base rock on, then set the $/ton — depth & density turn your area into tons automatically.
Demolition / haul-off: turn on if you’re tearing out existing concrete.
Labor: pick a Labor Method — the auto engine, a quick $/SF, or a flat total you type. Set your crew size and rates.

A field left at $0 shows a “Not priced yet” flag — fill it so nothing silently drops out of the bid.

💰 Markup & the bid PDF ›

Set your Markup % (overhead, contingency, profit) at the top of the Project tab.
Tap Bid PDF / Generate Bid PDF for the client proposal — the category totals include your markup, so the numbers add up.
For the crew, the Rebar schedule (in the ··· menu) gives a cut & bend list.

💾 Save & recall jobs ›

Tap Save to store the job.
Open the Dashboard (··· menu) to reopen a saved job later.
Download Backup File (··· menu) saves everything to a file you can keep.
