ConCal didn't start in an office. It began in the field with an odd-shaped pour and a question no one had a good answer for.
Back in 2023, I was working for a concrete contractor. We were pouring a slab with an odd shape. It had weird angles and was impossible to easily estimate the concrete, so my boss said the line that started all of this:
So I did. I sat down and worked it out. It wasn't easy and took a lot of time. I was guessing and had the quiet worry that I might've got it wrong. I didn't want him to order too much and have to eat the cost, and I couldn't run short on a 95 degree day.
I knew that there had to be a better way. I looked up different concrete calculators and could only find ones with very simple shapes: circles, squares, and rectangles. I couldn't see a product that is something we actually needed.
That night I started building it myself. I took a semester of coding class in high school so I was not qualified. Honestly, the first prototypes worked but were rough. Then life got busy and I shelfed it.
A couple years later I found the files and realized I was much more prepared to build a product real contractors need. This time I built a complete estimating tool: draw the job, get the takeoff, price it, and give the client a proposal. The thing we wished we had standing in the field.
That's ConCal. Here we are.
To give every contractor simple tools to estimate fast and accurately.
To honor God by helping the people who build thrive.
I'm not a software guy who decided to learn concrete. I'm someone who felt the struggles, did the math the hard way, and built the tool I needed. Every feature in ConCal exists because we needed it. If you bid small concrete jobs, I built this for you. I'd genuinely love to hear what would make it a better fit for you and your company.
Draw your next job and see the number in minutes.
